ONDA

How it works

ONDA is a device from DEKA that delivers microwave energy at 2.45 GHz, branded as Coolwaves. Microwave energy interacts with water-rich and fatty tissue, creating heat in deeper layers while the handpiece cools the skin surface. It is discussed for skin tightening and for reducing the look of localized fat, and the effects depend on the area and the person.

Good to know

• Handpieces vary in size to suit the face, neck, or body, so the visit length depends on the area.
• Built-in cooling is intended to protect the skin, which is why numbing is usually not needed.
• Mild redness or tenderness is possible and usually short-lived.
• Several visits are often part of a plan, which may not match a short trip.

What a ONDA session means for your travel days

Sessions on the body can run longer than facial ones, so reserve a generous window. Loose clothing afterward helps if the area feels tender.

If your doctor recommends a series, ask whether the gaps between sessions fit your stay. A single visit may offer limited change, and the rest can be continued at home if suitable.
