Mesotherapy (Skin Meso)

Mesotherapy covers a range of micro-injection mixes, so what you receive depends on the doctor's choice. Downtime is short, but benefit comes from repeat sessions, and the exact product should be recorded.

How it works

Tiny injections place a mixture of ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals or amino acids into the upper skin. The mix is chosen for your concern, such as dullness, texture or dehydration. Evidence for benefit is mixed, and results vary by person and by the ingredients used.

Who it may suit

  • Dehydrated or tired-looking skin
  • Rough texture and visible pores
  • A refresh before an event
  • Visitors who accept several short sessions

The treatment day

  1. Concern review. The doctor asks about your skin goals, allergies and previous injections.
  2. Selecting the mix. A product or blend is chosen, and you should be told what it contains.
  3. Injection. Fine needles or a multi-needle device place small amounts across the area.
  4. Recovery. Bumps and redness usually settle within one to two days.

Aftercare

  • Avoid touching, scrubbing or heavy makeup for about a day.
  • Skip saunas, hot baths and strenuous exercise for one to two days.
  • Keep skin moisturized and use daily sunscreen.
  • Do not pick at small scabs.
  • Contact the doctor for fever, spreading redness or ongoing pain.

Things to know first

  • Bumps, redness, bruising and mild swelling are common.
  • Allergic reactions, infection and lumps are uncommon but possible.
  • Ingredients differ between clinics, so ask for the full list.
  • Not a fit during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active skin infection, or with a known allergy to the contents.
  • Benefits are subtle and vary by person; repeat sessions are usual.

Planning mesotherapy around a Seoul trip

Because mixes differ, ask what exactly will be injected and note it down; this helps if you continue care elsewhere. Sessions are often spaced one to four weeks apart, so a short trip usually fits one or two, and the first should go early in the stay.

Bumps and pinpoint marks fade quickly, but the face can look slightly flushed for a day. Avoid the final day before departure, and plan sun protection for outdoor days.

Mesotherapy (Skin Meso): common questions

What is injected?

It depends on the product. Ask for the ingredient list and keep a record.

Will I see a difference after one session?

Some feel the skin is more hydrated, but meaningful change usually takes a few sessions.

Is it okay to fly afterward?

Usually, once any marks have calmed. A day or two of buffer is more comfortable.
