PicoWay
PicoWay is a picosecond laser from Candela; this guide explains how it affects scheduling during a Seoul stay.
How it works
PicoWay, made by Candela, is a picosecond laser platform. Very short pulses are intended to shatter pigment or ink particles with limited heat spread to nearby tissue. Depending on the handpiece and wavelength, it may be used for pigment, tattoo work, and for gentler skin-quality protocols. The settings a doctor selects change the visible reaction considerably.
Good to know
- A gentle low-energy approach tends to mean little visible downtime, while stronger settings for stubborn spots or tattoos create crusting.
- Different wavelengths target different colors, so multi-color tattoos often need more than one setting.
- Sensations are often described as snapping or tingling.
- Series of visits are typical, and improvement is gradual and varies.
What a PicoWay session means for your travel days
Ask the doctor which intensity is planned. A soft toning session might leave you free for an afternoon walk, while a stronger spot session may call for several days away from sun and water.
Do not plan a first-ever pico session on your last full day. If a reaction appears, you want time to be checked before boarding.
PicoWay: common questions
Is pico always gentler than other lasers?
Not always. The comfort and reaction depend on the settings chosen, not only the type of laser.
Can I get a tattoo touched up after fading?
That is a question for the doctor and tattoo artist once the skin has healed fully.
Does it help melasma?
Pigment such as melasma is complex and can return. A doctor can discuss options and risks.
