Liftera
Liftera, by Asterasys, is a HIFU device with a pen-type applicator; here is how to place a session in a Seoul visit.
How it works
Liftera is made by Asterasys and delivers high-intensity focused ultrasound through a pen-type applicator. A smaller, pen-shaped handpiece can make it easier to work around contours such as the jawline, around the mouth, or near the eyes. As with other HIFU devices, energy is focused into small points beneath the surface, producing localized heat in deeper tissue layers.
Good to know
- A slim applicator can allow finer control around curved or small areas, though technique still depends on the practitioner.
- Surface changes tend to be light, such as faint pinkness, while deeper tenderness may appear later.
- Tightening is gradual and individual; some people see a subtle change and others see none.
- A doctor should check for contraindications, including skin infection in the area and certain implants.
What a Liftera session means for your travel days
Treatment time is modest, so it fits between a morning consultation and an afternoon in a cafe or museum. Avoid booking something physically demanding the same evening.
If you hope to treat smaller areas like the area around the eyes or mouth, mention it during your first conversation so the plan can be made early rather than rushed near departure.
Liftera: common questions
Is a pen-type tip gentler?
Not necessarily. The shape affects reach, not comfort. Pain levels depend on energy settings and the area.
Will it show on photos right away?
Usually not. Any visible change tends to be slow, and swelling or flush may be the only immediate sign.
Can I hike the next day?
Many people can resume light activity, but ask your doctor. Heat and strong sun can be less comfortable on a tender face.
